Navigation buoys adapted to hold a containment boom
09-06-2020
On Lake Léman, on the border between France and Switzerland, the customer asked to replace a containment boom at the mouth of the Rhone River, next to Port Valais. The challenge consisted in obtaining multipurpose buoys: acting as mooring and holding the barrier and also as maritime beacons. The decision was to select the Balizamar range, whose standard buoys are characterized by their versatility. The customer opted for B1250T model, but with the hull of the B1600 buoy model. In this way, the client was able to customize them according to their needs, incorporating the adaptation pieces to hold the barrier. The two special marks were installed with their amber marine lights, thus fulfilling the dual function of marking and in turn holding the containment boom.
