Adapted Sailing Infrastructures
The Lindley Group is strongly committed to the field of adapted sailing. Its goal is to provide floating infrastructures adapted to the needs of people with reduced mobility. Since 2005, Lindley has collaborated with various nautical clubs and municipalities to offer these facilities, in particular with 'Vela sem Limites' initiative of the Cascais Yacht Club, in Portugal, with the support of the Cascais City Council.
Together with the promoters of this initiative belonging to the Club, Lindley developed a solution adapted to people in wheelchairs with embarkation and disembarkation aids. Its 'adapted' floating docks are manufactured with reduced freeboard and safety rails, in addition to having greater stability and overload capacity. The access walkway is equipped with a high-grip floor and additional handrails to facilitate the movement of wheelchairs. The infrastructure has a jib crane for the transfer of people, through a harness that transfers the sailors from their wheelchairs to the boats or vice versa.
