The renovation of the breakwater area of the Port Olímpic involves an improvement in maritime marking
10-02-2022
Within the framework of the project to improve the breakwater of Port Olímpic in Barcelona, a new submerged breakwater with concrete blocks has been built to soften the damage to the four existing breakwaters in case of strong storms. To mark these docks, four Almarin buoys have been installed, following IALA and Puertos del Estado regulations. In this way, sailors are warned that it is an area with very little draft so the safety in the area has been increased.
The buoys of the Balizamar range, model C1250T, are cardinal east marks, with their respective autonomous marine lanterns with GPS and mooring systems, which meet the objective of delimiting the beginning and end of the danger zone with two buoys at each side. It is a reliable and durable solution, made up of these robust buoys with a rotomolded polyethylene hull and galvanized steel structure. Puertos del Estado approved the new marking requested by the Barcelona City Council, concessionaire of the facility.
