The Port Authority of Melilla has inaugurated two new floating pontoons in the port as the starting point of the renovation project for the fishing dock. Almarin, the company awarded the public tender, has supplied and installed 96 linear meters of pontoon from the manufacturer Lindley. The two new floating structures will moor 52 boats of ten and twelve meters in length.

The pontoons are 48 meters long, consisting of 12-meter-long modules, and have a width of 2.5 meters. The pontoons and access walkways are made of aluminum. Additionally, they are equipped with twelve pedestals for electricity and water, along with two emergency pedestals. The anchoring system used consists of concrete moorings and chains.
