The Chipiona Fishing Port improves its floating infrastructure
07-07-2022
The Chipiona Fishing Port opens new floating pontoons to improve the conditions of use of the fishing fleet. The work has included the renovation of the floating infrastructures on the fish market jetty, the fishermen jetty and the refueling jetty. The Andalusian Public Ports Agency (APPA), as promoter of the work, awarded the project to the Parra Group, which commissioned Almarin to supply and install the Lindley manufacturer's pontoons.
A total of 160 meters of concrete pontoons have been installed in the fishermen's area. This type of equipment is characterized by its great robustness, stability, overload capacity and minimum maintenance. Some pontoon modules have been renovated on the fish market pontoon and on the refueling pontoon; the latter has also required the installation of new gray rubber side fenders, which replace the previous ones made of wood and rubber. The mooring system used has been through rail beams and piles. Almarin has been in charge of executing the pile driving with a pile driving barge, named Contracorrente. The work has been carried out in different phases to minimize the impact on the activity in the port.
Almarin had carried out other actions previously in the Chipiona Fishing Port, such as the installation of a pontoon in 2016, as well as the renovation of its maritime marking in 2015 and 2019.
